Growing up I always wanted to be two things: a writer and a detective! Now I get to be both!
My first experience as a writer came in the fourth grade when my teacher read one of my stories to the class. I’ve been hooked ever since. Growing up with older parents, I spent a lot of time entertaining myself. I passed many days and nights devouring the adventures of Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew, before graduating to Stephen King. Maybe that’s why I love a good “who done it?” with a scare or two along the way. I have lived in San Antonio, Texas for almost thirty years and have adopted it as my own. I love the diversity of this city and its endless supply of ghosts which make it the perfect setting for the Olivia Osborne series. When I’m not writing I can be found with my family and cats – there is always room for more cats.

An excerpt from Lullaby…
Olivia opened her eyes to see yellow ones. “You’re not supposed to be here,” she whispered.
“Neither are you, my child. Time to wake up. Your stay here has come to an end. They are coming for you. The time has come for you to make them pay.”
Olivia felt a gust of hot wind against her face. Her eyes flew open, and she found herself bathed in blinding light. She gagged against the resistance in her throat. Panic gripped her. She heard a rattling sound as she pulled her hands free. Only then did she see the massive shape lurking in the corner.
Olivia grew still, her struggle forgotten as he glided toward her. His head would have touched the ceiling if it wasn’t bowed. Snow white wings perched above his shoulders. Untucked, they would fill the room. He was the most beautiful creature Olivia had ever seen Bathed in his light, her panic evaporated. The figure slowly brought a finger to his lips as he placed a hand on the head of the man in the chair next to her bed. Olivia watched a lone white feather float free. Watching its lazy descent, she became still. Olivia knew no fear as she closed her eyes and yanked the tube free from her mouth.
