About Author Kate Ellington…

Kate grew up in a woodsy New England town not far from the coast. She read her first historical romance at age eleven when a teacher challenged her to find a book in the library written by an author she’d never heard of. Thus began a life-long love of love stories.

Kate wrote her first romance when she was sixteen, then set her pen down for years until another story floated into her head out of the clear blue sky. She jotted it down, just for fun, but soon it took on a life of its own. When not writing, spare time is devoted to reading novels, taking a stroll or spending time with her family.

An excerpt from Teacups and Temptations…

Molly opened her eyes.
“Penny?” Certain she was dreaming, she closed her eyes again. When she opened them, the dog was still there, standing over her. If Penny was here, that had to mean—But no. It was impossible. Heart hammering, Molly sat up just as Roger burst into the glade.
He skidded to a halt when he saw Molly sitting in the grass and a slow smile came to his face. “Molly Merriwether.”
“Roger! What are you doing here?” Molly started to get up but thought better of it, as her knees were inexplicably shaky. Probably the shock of seeing him so suddenly.
He just stared down at her as Penny ran in circles around both of them, barking.
Molly reached out to pat the dog, partially to gather herself before trying to speak. “What are you doing here?” she asked again.
He looked at her as if it was obvious. “I came to see you.”
“You did? But why?”
“I’m on my way home and Fred told me this is where you live. I couldn’t pass by without saying hello.”
“Did you go to the house?”
“I was heading there, but Penny shot off toward these trees. I thought she might be chasing another fox, but somehow she knew you were here.”
“Maybe she remembered my perfume, but I don’t know how she would have caught the scent from the road.”
“She must have. That mix of orange and vanilla has a sweet, distinctive aroma.” Roger looked away, but not before Molly saw the flush creep into his cheeks.
