I really enjoyed exploring the Louisiana swampland. I wanted to immerse the reader deep into the swamps and feel everything the characters were feeling. There’s a stand-alone chapter about one night at the Kingfisher Motel that is a sharp little, short story. I loved how that chapter turned out. I’m proud of this book and the worlds that I created. It’s my nod to Walter Hill & Ry Cooder movies and soundtracks (Hard Times, Johnny Handsome and Southern Comfort) and Amos Moses, a Jerry Reed song with lyrics that haunted me as a boy.
A truly captivating read ! The storyline grips you from the start, making it almost impossible to put down. Between the relatable characters and the vivid environment, it feels like you’re stepping right into the story 🙂
