At Bear’s nod, Julia set the carrier down and released Cardio.
Then Mason pushed himself out of his father’s arms and followed the cat through the house.
Bear and Julia chuckled at the pair.
When the child and feline returned to the living room, Mason looked up at Julia. “Does he like chicken nuggets?”
She blinked. “What?”
“The cat.”
“Oh. He likes anything he shouldn’t eat.”
Mason nodded thoughtfully. “Same.”
Bear sighed. “You’re not helping your case.”
Mason ignored him.
Apparently, ignoring Bear was a family trait, inherited and perfected by Mason, who met his father’s sigh with stubborn silence.
