Author Cindy Causey
Cindy Causey taught herself to type in the 8th grade because she couldn’t write in her diary fast enough in longhand. A degree and career in advertising were the result. After 20 years as a copy chief and Internet Marketing Manager at JC Penney, Cindy retired in 2007, and began working with her husband Scott in their multi-media production company, Dallas Media Center. Cindy shuttered the company in 2021, three years after Scott passed away.
After her first book, a non-fiction work called Cherish the Gift: a Congregational Guide to Earth Stewardship, was published, Cindy began writing fiction. She found her voice in romance, the stories of the struggles two people endure on the road to happily ever-after. Her debut novel, A Different Drum was published in 2009 by The Wild Rose Press, followed by A Hot Time in Texas that same year.

A little bit about Author Cindy Causey…
I began journaling in 8th grade, teaching myself to type on my mother’s upright manual typewriter. And I also began reading her historical romance novels with their roguish heroes and intrepid heroines. When I realized my passion for writing, I obtained a degree in Journalism/Advertising and enjoyed a lifelong career as a copywriter/copy chief and later in a multi-media production business with my husband. But I never stopped wanting to write romance. After my non-fiction book was published in 1996, I turned my attention to fiction. I honed my skills and in 2009 had two books released by The Wild Rose Press. Life intervened, and I wasn’t able to go back to fiction until my husband died in 2019. I started with a blog entitled The Widow Woman, and then submitted two new manuscripts to The Wild Rose Press. They have been released this year.
This is Author Cindy Causey’s writing and publication journey in her own words…
Inspiration to start writing…
I was compelled to start writing when I journaled every single second of a Monkees Concert in 1964. In high school, I worked on the yearbook staff for two years and fell in love with creating those memories on paper. So, I chose to make writing my career. I never really expected to write fiction, but awoke one morning with a story in my mind and raced to the computer to get it down “on paper.” That was the beginning. I began with historical romance because I loved to read them, but was much better at writing contemporary fiction with witty banter and lots of humor.
Cindy’s works…
My non-fiction book is Cherish the Gift: A Congregational Guide to Earth Stewardship. It is out of print. The two earlier romance novels, A Hot Time in Texas and A Different Drum, are also out of print. My two current fiction titles are Sensible Shoes, a women’s fiction, and Saving Samantha, a romantic suspense. Both are available widely online, and from The Wild Rose Press and Amazon.
Saving Samantha Blurb
One of Cindy’s favourite scenes from Saving Samantha…
“Jordan told us to find out whatever we could.”
“We’ve been through that a dozen times,” Jack said.
