A word from Author Kate Berberich about her book, “Perfect by Design.”
Perfect by Design is the latest entry in my Destination Romance series. It’s a contemporary romance with just the right amount of spice. If you’re familiar with the series, you know Dan and Lacey never do anything quite the way others expect. In Perfect By Design, they’ve decided they want to be together. They’re planning a small, private ceremony for the end of their next tour. There’s just one tiny detail–neither of them has managed to actually propose yet.Â

Perfect by Design Blurb
Set amidst the magnificent architecture and Mediterranean sunshine of Barcelona, Dan and Lacey design their perfect future. No matter where in the world they travel, they know home is in each other’s arms. Together their love is as strong as a gothic cathedral’s granite foundation, as whimsical as Gaudi’s bright-tiled dragon house, and as passionate as the Sant Jordi festival’s red roses. Now all they need is to escape a lonely nanny and her charge, and a womanizing architect long enough to settle a very important question.

An excerpt from Perfect by Design…
“I’m glad you shared your ideas about the cathedrals with the group.”
“Really?” She caught her lower lip between her teeth. “I was a little…I wasn’t sure if I really had anything to contribute.”
“You do. You’ve been travelling around Europe for nearly a year. You’ve seen enough examples of different building styles to have an informed opinion. But even beyond that…you have an artist’s eye. It doesn’t matter if you have a piece of paper from a fancy school. You see things other people don’t.” He grasped her shoulders and pressed a kiss to her golden hair. “And what you see is beautiful.” God knows, you saw something in me when I didn’t think there was anything redeemable.
“That works both ways, you know,” Lacey murmured, as if sensing his thoughts. “You have so much to share. You see things other people don’t notice, too.”
He huffed out a bitter little laugh. “I see exit doors and count security cameras. It’s not the same.”
“You see things that keep people safe.” She twisted around, and caught his hand, and kissed it. “You make me feel safe.”
“Keeping my family safe is the only worthwhile thing I’ve ever accomplished.”
She squeezed his hand. “Hey—what’ve I told you about talking about the man I love that way?”
As always, her smile and her faith in him—her love for him—lifted him out of the darker shadows in his mind. “I love you. You know that, right?”
“I should hope so, what with the wedding cruise to Malta.”
He threaded his fingers into her hair, cradling her head, and kissed her deeply, trying to convey all the feelings he could never quite find the words for.
