Author Spotlight: C.S Poulsen (Author of The Insiders)

C. S. Poulsen found a passion for writing in 2010 after enjoying an eighteen-year career as an entertainer, writing award-winning music and lyrics. She attended the University of North Florida. She has since written five novels in various genres, including Fantasy, Adventure, Women’s Fiction, and Romance with Suspense. She has one son, Luke Poulsen. Her nom de plume is Seven Rodgers.

 

 

After experiencing a challenging divorce, I prayed for guidance on what to do next. That night, I dreamed about the sword of death. At the time, I wasn’t a writer and had no desire to become one. However, something compelled me to write down the dream the following morning and expand it into a story. I found that I enjoyed the process and decided to dedicate myself to learning the craft. I focused on enhancing the storyline to include the rescue of trafficked children before the Earth flips its axis. Over ten years later, I submitted my work to The Wild Rose Press.

I have too many favorite scenes in this book. But the one that makes me laugh is when The Insiders are captured by a huge hood with a high, sing-song voice in Thailand. They speak like him to seem friendly before rescuing captured children.

      Babe nodded. “What a wonderful time we are having here in Thailand, my friend. Let us go visit the children. I bet they are gorgeous.”

“Oh, yes. A most fortunate day for you, cutie,” the big man said. “My master collects many children—all beautiful. You love them all. We go in through back door here.”

“Wait, Chief.” Motor rolled his eyes exaggeratedly. “Security! What a wonderful security system you have,” he said, almost prancing with more than a hint of mockery. “What kind is it?”

Picker turned away and covered his mouth, stifling laughter.

Twisted Intentions, a women’s suspense fiction novel, will be released in August by The Wild Rose Press. It is a heartfelt plea addressing the endangered populations of elephants and rhinoceroses, as well as the horrific issue of human trafficking that has emerged in our country. One woman rises to change the course of events in these areas while discovering her true self. Her sister and professional friends, including a love interest, try to determine if she is right or wrong in doing so.
