Author LoLo Paige

LoLo Paige is an award-winning hybrid author, publishing independently and traditionally, with the Wild Rose Press. She publishes in several genres, and her books have garnered several awards, including an RWA chapter award for her romantic comedy, Hello Spain, Goodbye Heart, published by The Wild Rose Press. Her romantic comedy, Everybody Loves Polar Bears, is loosely based on her experiences working as an extra on several Hollywood movies filmed in Alaska. LoLo’s romantic suspense books about wildland firefighting have topped Amazon Bestseller Lists in the U.S., Canada, and Australia, and Publishers Weekly featured her books in their Booklife section. To date, LoLo has twelve titles on the market, in the romantic suspense and romantic comedy categories. As a former wildland firefighter, LoLo’s true story in The Anchorage Press about escaping a wildfire in Alaska won an Alaska Press Club award, which led to her debut novel, Alaska Spark. Cherry Adair and Kat Martin have both endorsed her romantic suspense fire series. She also has a coming-of-age historical fiction novel coming out this year, The Butte Girls’ Club, inspired by her unique experience growing up in Butte, Montana. LoLo divides her time between Eagle River and Homer, Alaska with her HEA husband and golden retrievers, where she spends time on the beach watching the humpbacks and seals swim in her cove, and writing up a storm.

A little bit about Author LoLo Paige…

Back in the 80s, I won a free trip to Alaska from a travel agency when booking a trip from Missoula, Montana to visit family. This led to amazing adventures, working thirty-five years for the U.S. Department of the Interior in several disciplines, including wildland firefighting in my younger years, and regulating the Trans Alaska Pipeline. When I retired from the day job, I started out writing nonfiction, and published articles in newspapers and magazines. I wrote about everything from whale-watching in Alaska to a close friend who went missing in the late 80s. An article I wrote about a close call when firefighting won an Alaska Press Award for best historical story. This article led to my 2020 debut novel, Alaska Spark, which launched my romantic suspense series. I also had decades of acting experience on local stages and in movies filmed in Alaska, which led to writing romantic comedies. I love writing romance inspired by real experiences, so I wrote two novels based on trips I had taken, published by The Wild Rose Press: Irish Thunderand Hello Spain, Goodbye Heart. All in all I’ve been writing for ten years full time.

This is Author LoLo Paige’s writing and publication journey in her own words…

Inspiration to start writing…

What inspired me to start writing is that I had so many stories to tell and still do. The federal government sent me to countless writing courses where I learned several aspects of writing, legal and technical. But when I started writing fiction it felt like I was learning to write all over again. I love the romance genre because of the required HEA endings–Happily-Ever-After. Often times I write the ending and work backwards from there. Other times I write the middle and do the same. Recently I’ve dipped a toe into writing historical fiction, and discovered I love that, too because I can slip into the past, which is so much fun. I’ve never been able to stay in my lane, but I love that. Life is too short to write just one genre!

Irish Thunder Blurb

Sometimes the only way to find love is to dream it into existence…Riley Sullivan writes mundane instructions for assembling furniture, and that’s about as exciting as it gets. But when a twist of fate whisks her away on a cruise, she meets Killian, the impossibly handsome lead singer—and male stripper—of Irish Thunder. Her monotonous existence capsizes and vanishes with the roiling seas when she unlocks an adventure with the charming celebrity whose world is opposite from her own. Both take a plunge into the past… are they leading a double life from what they lived together back then? Is it their imagination, or did it really happen?

One of LoLo’s favourite scenes from Irish Thunder…

Killian watched her twist fettucine around her fork, then shove it into her mouth. Her eyes caught his, and she dropped her gaze, self-conscious of him watching her.

She’d been dying to ask him. “What’s it like to be a male stripper—I mean, exotic dancer?”

“Stripper. We don’t refer to ourselves as exotic dancers.” He waved his arms comically. “That conjures up snakes and silk and shaking coins on a belly. Stripping is like any other job.”

“I beg to differ.” She snorted. “I mean, isn’t it weird taking your clothes off for women you don’t know?”

“As opposed to women I know?” His eyes flickered while twisting a fork in his pasta. “I don’t just do it for women.”

Curious, Riley scrutinized him. “Do you—swing both ways?”

Killian nearly choked. He swallowed and grinned at his plate. “Not the last time I checked. Women bring boyfriends and husbands to our shows.”

“Do you lap dance them?”

“The boyfriends and husbands?” There was a trace of laughter in his voice.

“No, dummy, the women. Do you give them lap dances?” She truly wanted to know.

He shook his head and dropped his napkin on his plate. A server swooped in to remove it. Killian glanced at his phone and set it face down on the table.

He leaned forward; his expression serious. “Let’s cut to the chase.”

Riley solemnly rested her fork on her plate, her pasta twisting in her stomach.

Oh no, I said something wrong.

She took a stab at a response. “What do you mean? As in sex?”

His brows jumped, and her comment seemed to amuse him. “Why do women invariably jump to that conclusion?”
